Transforming Women Leaders Across Africa
with AFWAG’s Her Africa Ubuntu Leadership
Fellowship (HAULF) Fellowship
As the implementing partner for AFWAG’s Her Africa Ubuntu Leadership Fellowship (HAULF), we designed and facilitated a comprehensive, transformative programme empowering women leaders of social enterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Fellowship equips participants to lead with impact through three pillars: Self Mastery (personal growth and resilience), Relational Mastery (building strong, emotionally intelligent relationships), and Context Mastery (navigating complex systems affecting women and girls).
We led the programme cycle, starting with a needs assessment to tailor the design, followed by highly interactive learning experiences combining workshops, peer coaching, case studies, immersive exercises, and reflective practices. Our approach ensured engagement, participation, intersectional relevance, and safety, helping Fellows translate insights into practical action.
Programme highlights included:
- Kenya Immersion: Rethinking leadership, cultivating emotional resilience, and practicing courageous conversations.
- Organisational Culture & DAMAN Framework: Guiding Fellows to co-create Leadership Culture Charters, aligning culture with mission and accountability.
- Peer Coaching Pods & Leadership Transitions: Strengthening relational and strategic leadership skills while preparing leaders and organisations for smooth transitions.
- Virtual Fireside Sessions & Masterclasses: Bringing dynamic women social entrepreneurs to inspire Fellows to become transformational leaders.
Through this Fellowship, participants strengthened self-awareness, leadership confidence, and relational capacity, leaving equipped to drive systemic change within their organisations and communities.
By delivering this programme, we demonstrated our expertise in designing and facilitating leadership development at scale, creating meaningful impact across Africa while enabling AFWAG to achieve its mission of empowering women and girls and advancing gender justice.
