
Strengthening Board Governance
and Strategic Leadership at AfA
In November 2025, Busara Africa facilitated a two-day Board meeting for Alliances for Africa (AfA) at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, designed to strengthen governance, clarify strategic priorities, and drive meaningful organisational change.
The first day focused on reflection and dialogue, grounding Board members in the real-life impact of AfA’s programmes and creating a shared sense of purpose. On the second day, Busara Africa guided the Board through interactive exercises on governance, skills and gap assessments, succession planning, and strategic alignment, helping members define the competencies needed to lead AfA into its next phase.
By the close of the meeting, the Board had articulated collective strategic priorities, identified key actions to enhance effectiveness, and committed to supporting leadership, resource mobilisation, and organisational growth.
