Advancing Workplace Inclusion:
CEO Taaka Awori Speaks at Ghana
Women-Friendly Workplaces Report
Launch & Stakeholder Forum
On Thursday, 27 March 2025, our CEO Taaka Awori joined a powerful conversation on workplace inclusion at the Standard Chartered Bank Headquarters. The occasion was the launch of the Ghana Women-Friendly Workplaces Report and Stakeholder Forum, hosted by Konfidants in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank. The event was held as part of the 2025 International Women’s Day celebrations, spotlighting the critical role of inclusion in building thriving, equitable organisations.
The report drawing on insights from over 2,000 working women, shines a spotlight on the pressing need for more inclusive, supportive workplace environments for women across sectors.
As a panelist, Taaka contributed to a dynamic discussion on:
- Gaps in workplace policies affecting women
- The role of organisational culture in supporting reproductive health
- The real emotional, economic, and career-related costs of neglecting women’s health needs
- Practical strategies and emerging models for creating truly inclusive workspaces
In her remarks, she emphasized a crucial truth:
“Reproductive health challenges are not just women’s issues — they are workplace issues.”
To drive meaningful change, Taaka shared three key strategies:
- Engage male champions as advocates for inclusion
- Make the business case using data and outcomes, not only human rights arguments
- Start small — even modest, consistent steps can build powerful momentum for change
The message was clear: workplace inclusion isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s the smart thing to do. It benefits people, productivity, and progress.
At Busara Africa, we remain committed to fostering inclusive workplaces where everyone can thrive.
